For many communities, libraries are more than just a place for books, they become hubs for community, learning, and opportunity. In the City of North Powder that vision is becoming a reality. After years of dreaming and planning, the City of North Powder is bringing to life a new public library.

The project entails the expansion of an existing downtown building, formerly the North Powder Fire Department and now serving as City Hall. The design features a 2,000 square foot addition that will connect with the current facility.

Inside, the library will offer four computer workstations, along with laptops and tablets available for checkout. Designed to be welcoming and functional with updated flooring, fresh paint, and ceiling treatments for the existing building. The exterior gets a drastic facelift to create a civic presence for the library with large windows, exposed wooden beams, and gable roof. Contemporary architecture with a blend of modern, rustic, and industrial elements reflects the North Powder community.

Site improvements will include additional parking, ADA- compliant spaces, and upgrades to meet local zoning requirements, further ensuring the library’s accessibility to everyone in the community.
