Jefferson County Fire & EMS Expansion and Seismic Upgrade
Modern facility that prioritizes resilience, flexibility, and function
Prompted by the population rise in Jefferson County and consolidation of Jefferson County Fire and Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services into a single facility, Pinnacle is working with the County to renovate and expand the existing facility. The new design prioritizes resilience, flexibility, and function while providing improved safety and security for staff and citizens, improved training and operating efficiencies and increased capacity. The project includes a 6,612 SF remodel and an added 6,486 SF – nearly doubling the building’s footprint for administration, living, and support spaces. Pinnacle worked closely with the fire district staff during programming and design to accommodate specific needs while offering industry best practices. The fire district has experienced a change in demographics with the profession and about half of the staff are comprised of women. This demographic shift inspired a design focused on equality, offering conditions that consider the needs of all staff and volunteers.
