Deschutes County North County Campus

Renovating disparate medical office buildings to create a multi-faceted community health campus

Collaborating closely with Deschutes County, Pinnacle spearheaded the transformation of two existing buildings into a dynamic campus housing essential services for North County residents. From public health and behavioral health to veteran support and Mosaic Community Health, this integrated facility embodies a holistic approach to wellness, addressing diverse needs in one location.

Our journey began with an in-depth programming phase, where we meticulously analyzed the unique requirements of each department. Guided by the county’s vision for a trauma-informed design, our team crafted a space that fosters productivity and nurtures collaboration and well-being among staff and visitors alike.

Highlights of the campus include a sunlit staff break room offering a serene retreat, a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen poised to host engaging community classes, and an isolation exam room with direct exterior access to ensure seamless management of infectious situations. Additionally, our design features a versatile group therapy room with adjustable lighting and advanced video conferencing capabilities, along with an observation therapy room equipped with a one-way mirror and integrated technology for Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.

Externally, our design seamlessly connects the campus through thoughtfully crafted walkways and landscaping, fostering a sense of cohesion and accessibility. Inside, the interior palette draws inspiration from Deschutes County standards, blending practicality with soothing hues to create an inviting atmosphere. Engaging staff in the selection of furnishings and artwork further enhances the sense of ownership and belonging within the space.

As the curtains rose on the grand opening, the sentiment echoed by a Public Health employee encapsulated the essence of our endeavor: “This space is amazing for our staff and clients.”
