CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE, WICKIUP RESIDENCE HALL

Residence Hall Designed for Recruitment and Retention

Supporting COCC’s master plan and the demand for updated student housing on campus, Pinnacle partnered with Mahlum Architects to create a residential “hub” to improve the student experience. The design is a suite-style approach providing every four students with a communal living room and bathroom adjoined to double or single bedrooms.

With an overall goal of recruitment and retention, the design focuses on creating community on each floor. Each color-coded level includes study rooms and lounge. Other community space consists of a sitting lounge with large flat-screen TV and fireplace, kitchen, and additional game/lounge space.

“The new facility allows the College to remain competitive with other colleges and universities.” — Alicia Moore, COCC’s Dean of Student and Enrollment Services
