CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE, HEALTH CAREERS CENTER
Streamlined Facility and Modern Technology
For a thriving adventure-seeking community, composed of health and wellness-oriented residents, health education unquestionably ranks as a top field of study. Similarly, the most significant percentage of Central Oregon’s professionals work in the medical arena. Pinnacle partnered with Yost Grube Hall Architecture of Portland, to upgrade the medical education facilities at COCC. A new “Health Careers Center” replaced the outdated classrooms and science labs of the campus’ Ochoco Hall.
The Health Careers Building is a striking four-story facility that includes a health clinic, dental clinic, and medical offices. The building provides teaching spaces for several departments, including science and nursing classrooms, lecture halls, simulation areas, and labs.
The renovation has improved the building accessibility for students. An upper floor building connection to COCC’s Pioneer Hall and Hitchcock Auditorium provides elevators and interior staircases to help students navigate the 40-foot elevation drop. Whether students opt to pursue careers in medical administration or direct patient care, the Health Careers Building showcases a streamlined facility and modern technology for today’s medical professionals.
