4 Tips to Work More Efficiently

Innovation is a cornerstone of Pinnacle’s work. Part of innovating is looking at new ways of designing buildings but also ways to work more efficient for our clients. We scoured the web to find these top 4 tips for working more efficiently!

1. Don’t try to multi-task. Studies show it takes 25 to 40 percent longer to get a job done when you’re simultaneously trying to work on other projects. An article in Entrepreneur says, “do one thing, uninterrupted, for a sustained period of time.”

2. Utilize tools to be more productive. So many websites and so many passwords. One can waste a lot of productive time trying to remember a password and it’s unsafe for all your passwords to be the same. Forbes suggests using a password manager like Roboform.

3. Move around while working. A study from the University of Sydney found that sitting for eight to 11 hours daily increases your chances of dying by 15% in four years. Yikes! Solutions: Have stand up meetings (like the one at Pinnacle pictured above) or try out a yoga ball or kneeling chair to switch things up.

4. It’s all about timing. The time-blocking method is where you block out your calendar for the project you need to complete. U.S. News suggests taking 30 minutes on Monday to prioritize your projects and tasks for the week. Block out time on your calendar for the tasks and focus on the biggest things that need to get accomplished. Adjust your calendar daily.
